introductory course to otaku-sama

Well, this is my first post on any blog ever, so I guess I'll start with the basics. I created this blog so that the biggest 16-year-old manga/anime/Demotivational Poster addict on this side of Romulus (me) can share his biggest findings in the world of japanese cartoons and comics in addition to any particularly interesting demotivational posters that I just happen to come across in my couldn't-be-more-epic life. let me just break it down so that you will understand what you'll be getting into once you enter this sacred place of legendary adventures, epic fails, and "Holy crap, what was that" moments:
  1. Manga is the comic book of the japanese civilization. Unlike american comics, which typically consist of a single 15-30 page adventure of those in said comic, manga is sold in volumes, which are about 300-350 pages of pure awesomeness! there are many different types of manga, notable concluded types include Mirai Nikki (I just finished that one and loved it!), Rurouni Kenshin, and Dragonball Z.
  2. Anime is often the result of turning a manga into a television show, although there are exceptions to this tradition. in one case I know of (Ichiban ushiro no daimaou/Demon King Daimo) the manga was actually based on the anime (I think). I haven't encountered a case in which an anime exists without its anime counterparts, but I'm sure one exists.
  3. As for Demotivational Posters:
"'nuff said"

Well, that concludes this post, I just have two more things to share with those of you new to this blog:

and, for putting up with me:
